What's your excuse for failing?

Let me start commending our fellow Female Nigerian Hilda Baci on breaking the world's record of the longest cooking marathon and every Nigerian that supported her....I believe these are things everyone likes to see happening.

Now back to business.....Someone asked a question few weeks back "Is there an excuse for failure?"

While asking this Question she explained saying "You know there are situations people find themselves that makes them unable to meet their goals in life but are those situations an excuse.?" ....Well I don't have my opinion on that per se but analyse it with me would you?

NB: Success = Preparation + Opportunity 

I think the first thing we should ask is what Success means to the person in question....Is it money? Is it Educational degree? Is it having a family?.....I strongly believe that to achieve any goal there has to be an obstacle(s) so it depends on how the person you/I chooses to go about it.....Let's just analyse with two instances....

 A girl who was given the opportunity to go to school and earn a degree but then refuses having the mindset of "Education is scam" but then an opportunity arises for her to change her life but the only Qualification needed is her certificate which she unfortunately doesn't have.... she wasn't prepared so the opportunity passed her by bit who's to blame....What silly excuse is she going to give for not succeeding in that area? 

Now on the other hand.....

A guy whose parents can't afford Education and all he does is work on his talent and be known only in his locality/vicinity.....one day a talent hunt is carried out in the nation and for which he's been prepared for.....at this point Preparation meets Opportunity thereby Resulting in the success of his plans in that area.....

Regardless of how sketchy the instances are I believe we can deduce that any unprepared person will always find an excuse for failing but a prepared person only waits for the right opportunity and hops on it....But the first step is to define your goal first then work(prepare) towards it so that you won't miss out on opportunities.

I don't know though....what do you guys think 

Does an excuse really exist for failure?

And why do we always want to find an excuse for failure?

Can't we just admit we failed and move on....?
